Dr. Freda Prempeh, the Member of Parliament for Tano North in the Ahafo Region has drilled 100 boreholes to make potable drinking water accessible to people in the constituency.

The facilities are spread across the constituency, she told the Ghana News Agency (GNA)in an interview at Duayaw-Nkwanta, during an inspection visit to assess the level of construction of 10 additional boreholes in the area.

Dr Prempeh, also a Minister of State in-charge of Works and Housing explained potable drinking water remained a basic necessity which every Ghanaian should not be denied of, and advised the communities to take proper care of the boreholes.

As a basic necessity of life, the MP promised to ensure every deprived community in the constituency benefited from the boreholes to enable the people to easily access potable drinking water by 2022.

“Seriously, I am lobbying for support from development partners. Apart from potable drinking water, it’s my desire to ensure improved education, health and road network in the constituency”, Dr. Prempeh said.

She indicated her determination to put up durbar grounds in all the major communities in the constituency, adding so far about 15 durbar grounds were constructed, while work on 10 additional ones were progressing.

“I have also built a modern Astro-Turf at Koforidua and soon work on a 5,000 capacity stand would commence to promote sporting activities”, Dr. Prempeh added.
