Teacher trainees refute govt’s claim on allowance payment

Teacher trainees at the Berekum College of Education have disputed the government's claim that all their allowance backlogs have been settled.

Speaking to Adom News, they revealed that they are still owed allowances for about two semesters, with the last payment received in February covering arrears from the previous year.

The trainees expressed frustration over the delays, highlighting the financial hardships they face.

They noted that parents and guardians mistakenly believe they receive monthly allowances. The students pleaded with the government to address the unpaid allowances to alleviate their financial burden and ensure their well-being.
