There are more drinking spots in Ghana than churches - Agyinasare

The founder and leader of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Charles Agyinasare has diffused claims that Ghana is religiously being controlled by Christians following the establishment of churches at every corner of the country.

“I think that there are more beer bars and more drinking houses than churches”, the man of God stated explaining Christians in Ghana are not responsible for the economic challenges facing the people.

According to him, 80% of the churches in Ghana unlike the ones in the States are below two hundred persons “but we have churches all over the country which many believe they should be taxed”.

“Assuming they take Accra for example, because of the many billboards they assume there are churches everywhere [but] on the ground it is not like that”, he spoke on GHOne State of Affairs show.

“Statistically people feel they are Christians but the truth is they are not”, Bishop Charles Agyinasare told host Nana Aba Anamoah during one-on-one interview

Bishop Charles Agyinasare who spoke ahead of 35th Anniversary of the church he founded disclosed financial constraints as the biggest challenges currently facing the establishment of the church.

“It is difficult to say for the people to understand but the biggest challenge has been money because crusades are very expensive”, the clergy stated.

“If I should tell you the electricity bill I have to pay for a church and the size of the other expenses you need to run to keep a church like this”, he stated

“Pastors are men of faith, men of faith do nor talk about their problems. …they talk about what God can do so a lot of the time if you hear a man of faith talking he talks about what he sees will happen and not what is exactly happening”.
