The Coalition of Concerned Citizens Against Galamsey is staging a three-day protest from October 3 to 5, demanding the release of 53 anti-galamsey activists arrested during recent demonstrations.
The march will start at Okponglo and pass the Accra Sports Stadium, promoting the slogans “#FreeTheCitizens” and “#SayNoToGalamsey.”
On the first day, a petition will be submitted to Parliament and the Attorney General.
The protest aims to raise awareness about the harmful effects of illegal mining, culminating in a night vigil to highlight environmental damage on the final day.
