"I'm wondering who taught Bawumia banking...PhD's can be bought. Bawumia do not have the competence to speak on issues of economics and financial matters," he said.

A communication director of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) has questioned the credibility and qualification of the vice-presidential candidate of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
The deputy communications director, Solomon Nkansah says he doubt the competence of the former governor and has called for his certificates to be scrutinized.
Speaking in an interview with Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, Solomon Nkansah posited that, Dr. Bawumia is not qualified and competent enough to be certified with a PhD with Specialisation in Macroeconomics, International Economics, and Monetary Economics from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada in 1995.
In his view, "clueless Bawumia" is not a fine material to hold himself as someone with the technical know how. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, told a gathering of students at the Accra Polytechnic few weeks ago that government had directed about 250 million dollars of the total proceeds from the $ 1 billion Eurobond it issued in 2015 to a private account.
Government had denied the claims but the running mate of Nana Addo maintains that the move by government clearly shows that, its incompetent and and corrupt. Dr. Bawumia had also made claims that UBA had loaned the amount to government.
But Solomon Nkansah denied and claims and wondered where and who taught Dr. Bawumia banking, since he believes that the former governor goofed.
"I'm wondering who taught Bawumia banking...PhD's can be bought. Anybody can buy degrees and other certification if they want to, so i will not be surprised if it turns out that Dr. Bawumia bought his certificate. Bawumia do not have the competence to speak on issues of economics and financial matters."
Solomon Nkansah said the former finance minister in the erstwhile Kufour's administration, Osafo Marfo is more competent to speak on issues on finance and economics than Dr. Bawumia.
He stressed, Dr. Bawmumia speaks as a novice and is now a laughing stock in the eyes of renowned economists in the country.
He advised Dr. Bawumia to stop embarrassing himself since he does not do personal research or findings but rather depend on what the Monetary Policy Committee of The Central Bank does.
