Togbe Dadzawa III, the paramount chief of Shia in the Volta Region, will mediate between the Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) and local residents after a violent clash on November 15.

The confrontation followed a disagreement between a GIS officer and Okada riders.

The incident reportedly began when the officer was involved with a local woman, and the riders intervened after hearing her cries.

The officer allegedly retaliated by mobilizing colleagues, leading to a confrontation where warning shots were fired, and pepper spray was used.

Two residents were injured.

The mediation is set for November 19, and the Ho Municipal Chief Executive has called the GIS’s actions "unprofessional," pledging to ensure peace.
