Treat homosexuals with love and respect – Kamil urges Ghanaians

Outspoken Ghanaian, Kamil popularly known as Austin has passionately called on Ghanaians to stop stigmatizing gays and transsexuals but rather treat them with love and respect.

Speaking with Modern Afrika, he stated that it hurts him a lot that majority of Ghanaians demonstrate gross disrespect and hatred towards homosexuals instead of welcoming them and show them some love because he believes love can easily influence such persons to turn up a new leaf.

“He said its stated that hate the sin, love the sinner yet often times you would find many Ghanaians making dirty jokes and calling homosexuals derogatory names which is causing more harm than good to such persons therefore it’s about time we abandon such comment and treat them with respect because they also forms part of God’s creation”.

Kamil’s life in jeopardy

Kamil also disclosed to Modern Afrika that his life is now jeopardy due the peaceful advocacy he is making to the general public.

He recalled how he nearly lost his life in Ghana last year following series of attacks he received at his residence when he attempted to educate the public on how to embrace such persons yet people misinterpreted that education saying he is trying to defy what Ghana’s speaker of parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye stated at parliament in July 2017 that leaders in countries like Ghana would not countenance the aggressive push by external forces to accept acts such as homosexuality, bestiality among others.

Kamil is therefore appealing to the public not to get him wrong instead heed to his call of treating homosexuals with respect.

He noted that he is not a gay talk less of promoting homosexuality in Ghana but it is only fair to treat such persons with love and respect because stigmatization is causing a lot of people to commit suicide in Ghana.
