The Ghana Hydrological Authority has warned that two-thirds of the country's coastline, approximately 370 km out of 550 km, is at risk of erosion and needs urgent protection to prevent the loss of critical national assets.
CEO Dr. John Kissi highlighted that key assets such as the Aboadze Power Enclave, St. Augustine SHS, and Cape Coast Nursing and Midwifery Training College are threatened.
He emphasized the need for significant investment from both the government and private sector in coastal and climate adaptation strategies and urged the public to stop sand-winning activities that worsen erosion.
