Two trucks, VIP bus collide at Achimota old station

A heavy duty truck drawing an industrial container collided with a mini truck carrying bicycles on the Achimota-Nsawam road Tuesday evening.

A VIP bus heading towards Kumasi on that stretch was temporarily involved in the accident as the impact of the collision pushed the bicycle truck against the VIP bus that happened to be present at the time.

An eyewitness on the scene recounted that, there was a traffic jam on the main road heading towards Nsawam as expected on a normal day, when all of a sudden the heavy duty truck coming from Achimota forest area in an attempt to enter the main road, lost control and consequently crashed into the mini truck.

The VIP bus driver managed to pull off and move away, because the impact of the collision was almost undetectable while efforts were still being made as at 11:00 pm to tow the trucks and make way for traffic.

Another eyewitness revealed that, driver of the heavy duty truck sustained minor injuries and was sent to the hospital for treatment. Aside that, no fatalities were recorded.
