The United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) has handed over a "Ship-in-a-Box" (SIAB) simulator to the Naval Training Command in Nutekpor, Volta Region, Ghana.
Funded by Denmark and implemented by UNODC, this simulator will enhance Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure (VBSS) training for military and civilian maritime law enforcement in the ECOWAS Zone F region.

The SIAB allows for safe, cost-effective training by simulating maritime crime scenarios without needing actual fuel and boat maintenance.

Denmark's Foreign Affairs Minister highlighted the importance of securing maritime freedom, while Ghana's Defence Minister urged the proper use of the facility.
