US opens Diversity Visa Lottery registration for 2026 today

The U.S. Department of State will open online applications for the Fiscal Year 2026 Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery on October 2, 2024, at 4:00 PM GMT.

Applicants have until November 5, 2024, to register through the official DV lottery website.

Up to 55,000 green cards will be available for people from countries with low U.S. immigration rates.

Countries like Nigeria, India, and Mexico are ineligible.

Applicants must have at least a high school diploma or two years of qualifying work experience.

Results will be announced in May 2025.

The State Department warns against scams and fake websites.
