The University of Cape Coast Branch of the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG-UCC) has denounced the University Council's decision to terminate Prof. Johnson Nyarko Boampong's reappointment as Vice-Chancellor.
UTAG-UCC argues the action by Council Chair Prof. Harold S. Amonoo-Kuofi is unilateral and violates ongoing court orders.
They assert the termination letter dated July 31, 2024, lacks merit and legal basis.
UTAG-UCC has called for the withdrawal of the termination letter, urging the government to remove the Chairman.
They emphasize adherence to legal frameworks and promise to protect the university's integrity and members' rights.
