The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West Constituency, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has cut the sod for the construction and rehabilitation of roads in her constituency.
The yet-to-be-asphalted deplorable roads connect Ablekuma North, Central and South constituencies.
The contract has been awarded to OSWAL Investment Limited.
According to the Communication Minister, the project includes the construction of the western link roads to serve as an alternative for the main Dansoman highway.
Speaking to Class News after the sod-cutting ceremony at the weekend, Mrs Owusu-Ekuful said the project will ease vehicular traffic when completed.
"This is one of the major roads that we are standing on, the Western Link Road ... It's parallel to the Dansoman High Street, and once done, it will take a lot of the pressure and traffic off the Dansoman High Street because it's an alternative route which spans the entire constituency across three electoral areas, so, we know that it will ease the congestion on our roads,” she told Class News' Jerry Akornor.
The construction works started today, Monday, 3 June 2019 and expected to be completed in six months.
Present at the sod-cutting ceremony were representatives of OSWAL Investment Limited, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) and the chiefs of the area.
