Use Christianity to build good relations with neighbours

The Global Mission Resource Centre (GMRC) in collaboration with North Eastern Mission Field of Ghana Baptist Convention has organised a three-day Christmas convention for their churches.

The convention for 130 Baptist Churches was held at North Eastern Christian Academy (NECA) school campus in the Yendi Municipality of Northern Region.
The convention was on the theme: “Why Christ came to the World.”

In a sermon Rev. Emmanuel Kwabena Mustapha, Executive officer and Founder of Global Mission Resource Centre called on Christians to build good relations with their neighbours as Jesus Christ did not discriminate.

He urged them to fight economic to become industrious and reject fighting their neighbours.

He called on the people within Yendi and Dagbon as a whole to sustain the peace for development.

Touching on the establishment of the Church in Yendi Rev. Emmanuel Mustapha said the church was established in Yendi in 2005 and later planted 400 churches within five years and also raised their numbers to 4,000 in West Africa.

He said they also trained 800 leaders of the church, some of which completed seminary and 56 of them would be graduating.

He said 40 motor bikes were given to church leaders to work effectively.

He said in order to help curb malaria in the area GMRC would present 100,000 mosquito nets to the Yendi Municipality and Mion District to be distributed to their communities.

He said they also donated hospital equipment worth $500,000, built Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for the Yendi hospital and for the past four years doctors came from United States of America to perform 100 surgeries in every year in the hospital.

He said they also trained women in sewing and when they complete the training they would be given sewing machines to carry out their work.

He said they were hoping to establish 2,000 churches by 2029 and appealed to Government to facilitate their activities by waiving tax on their equipment.

He appealed to the media to give Dagbon good reports to sustain the peace they were enjoying since the enskinment of Ya-Na Abubakari II.

The churches also launched 13 Football Teams, to be used to communicate Jesus Christ through football to people within their communities and the nations for peace and unity.

In an address read on his behalf Ya-Na Mahama Abukari II commended the Baptist Church for the wonderful work they were doing in education, health and partnering the traditional authorities, the security, the Assembly and the people of the area in promoting peace in Yendi and Dagbon as a whole.

The Public Relations Officer of the Gbewaa Palace Mr. Yakubu Musah encouraged them to continue with their efforts also through prayers for Ghana and Dagbon for development, education, good health and jobs for the youth.

Mr Yakubu called on all to embrace the peace they were enjoying to attract investors.

Rev. Kwaku Manu retired Pastor of the Methodist church reminded them that Jesus came for them to get salvation.

He said Jesus underwent pains because of their sins and urged them to pray for God to help them live Christian lives.

They prayed for the President and his Vice, Dagbon, Ghana, Ministers of State, for peace and, the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections, among others.

At the end of the convention they also baptized 210 new members into the church.
