VRA relaunches Energy Conservation Clubs in Basic Schools

As part of measures to curb the high rate of energy wastage in the country, the Volta River Authority has relaunched the energy conservation clubs in basic schools to inculcate the habit of energy conservation in pupils.

Read full article.to reintroduce the club into basic schools because of the outrageous rate at which VRA is producing energy, and the rate at which energy is misused in the country.

“We need to take energy seriously in this country, the cost of producing electrical energy is very high, whatever price you are paying is not necessary as compare to the cost of producing energy, therefore I urge you all gathered here to be mindful of how you use energy in your various homes,” he said.

He said, VRA has achieved tremendous heights over the years and wishes to educate young pupils on the need to conserve energy.

“Energy is attempting to educate you and so take this chance seriously and try and benefit from the opportunity given to you” he added.

Mr. Kalitsi advised the pupils to take energy conservation seriously adding that the fact that energy is there doesn’t mean it should be taken for granted rather its usage must be constructive

“I’d like to invite all of us to support the Volta River Authority in relaunching the a program of energy conservation through energy conservation clubs in basic schools” he added.

Mr. Kalitsi was speaking at the 57th-anniversary ceremony of the VRA in Accra on Thursday, April 26th.
