Visa Fraud: Dahah breaks silence on allegation; denies accusation of fraud

The Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Joseph Benhazin Dahah has denied allegations of Visa Fraud leveled against him by the British High Commissioner, Jon Benjamin.

He disputed the accusations of his involvement in any Visa fraud saying that there is no proof implicating him in the illegality as alleged by Mr. Benjamin.

Members of Parliament feared a recent visa fraud allegations against colleague MPs by the British government will further dent the battered image of the legislative body.

The House was in the first quarter hit by bribery allegations albeit with no evidence to back it.

But, a fresh scandal emerged in the second quarter where the British High Commissioner in a letter to the Speaker of Parliament accused four MPs of engaging in visa fraud and also stated that the said MPs had been banned for ten years.

However, one of the affected MPs has finally broken his silence over the matter saying he will soon prove his innocence in the allegation.

“Infact for now I wouldn’t like to comment on it. At an appropriate time I will come out with a release for the general public to know my involvement in that thing, for them to judge whether that constitutes a fraud or not,” he told Accra-based Citi FM.
