The NDC parliamentary candidate for the Bole-Bamboi constituency Alhaji Sulemana Issifu is advising the running mate to the NPP flag bearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to talk to his wife to engage in politics that is not divisive.
Alhaji Ori, as he is popularly called, who is not happy with the decision of Samira Bawumia to take her campaign to the Fulani community, said it is important that Dr. Bawumia talks to the wife to be careful with the kind of message she sends to the Fulani people.
He told Starr News : “What I want to tell the lady who happens to be a sister is that she should be careful not to cause confusion in this area. If I get the chance I will talk to Dr. Bawumia who is a brother to talk to her.
“The information I have is that, she met with the Fulani community in Damongo and she is inciting them against the chiefs not to pay levies. This is not good for us. So I will on the quiet tell Dr. Bawumia to talk to her so that we don't create confusion here.”
Alhaji Ori added: “As for the lies that the people have no water, the people are discerning and they know what the assembly and the president have done to provide water for them. As we speak an engineer was brought in a couple of weeks ago to drill some boreholes but because it’s the rainy season we have been advised to wait till the dry season comes so that we can get to know the real water table before drilling".
On the chances of the NDC in the upcoming elections, Alhaji Ori noted the party is targeting 85% for the president as against about 74% in the last elections.
According to him, the president has done so much that the people will reward him with their votes.
