We are sweating because of Atta Akyea – Kennedy Agyapong confesses

Member of Parliament for the Assin Central Constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong has confessed and faulted the Minister for Works and Housing, Samuel Atta Akyea for taking his bragging game too far, MyNewsGh.com reports.

He says the Abuakwa South MP’s exaggeration of Ghana’s housing deficit has caused persons who believe in the government to sweat in defense of allegations of a multi-billion dollar fraud at his ministry.

Though Kennedy Agyapong insists Kevin Ekow Taylor’s allegation of fraud against Mr Atta Akyea are false, government communicators are struggling to defend him because the minister was not measured in handling the deal, he told a section of Ghanaians in Hamburg, Germany.

Kevin Ekow Taylor, a USA based political commentator and handler of With All Due Respect – Loud Silence Media on Facebook, has accused Atta Akyea of signing two contracts in August and October 2018 to the tune of close to $35 billion with two separate companies; contracts he says exceeds the ministry’s budget.

But the Hon. Atta Akyea, in a press release, said the claims by Kevin Taylor are false and a deliberate fabrication and “a well-orchestrated plan to bring my hard-earned reputation and image into public disrepute.”

He further hinted that he has directed his lawyers to study the publication and advice on legal remedies available to him.

He, however, admitted having had initial discussions with the companies and had relied on the expertise of the Chief Director of the Ministry, Mr. Solomon Asoalla, but denied that any contract was signed.

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, who vouched for the minister’s innocence in the matter, however, told the gathering that, “truth be told Atta Akyea went overboard; is Ghana’s housing deficit one billion; that is why we are all sweating trying to defend this issue”.

He went on to describe Kevin Taylor as a “bastard” and several other unprintable words we are unable to repeat, serving notice that he will match him squarely if he continues to torment the Akufo-addo government.
