Johnson Asiedu Nketia, National Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), has cautioned the Ghana Police Service to handle political issues impartially ahead of the 2024 elections.
Speaking at a press briefing, he emphasized that the NDC will not tolerate state coercion against its members and insisted on non-discriminatory law enforcement.
His comments followed the release of Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, the NDC's Parliamentary Candidate for Awutu Senya East, from police custody.
Her arrest had sparked condemnation from NDC leaders and protests by party members, who viewed her detention as politically motivated.
