We have asked new STC appointee to hold on – Nana Akomea

Following resistance from State Transport Corporation (STC) workers against appointing a third Deputy Managing Director, management has asked the appointee to wait due to concerns raised by the workers' union.

STC workers argue the appointment wastes public funds and urge prioritizing acquiring more buses and settling overdue pensions.

Managing Director Nana Akomea acknowledged the workers' concerns as legitimate and stated the board would meet with the union to address differences.

Akomea also agreed on the need for a new fleet, noting that many STC vehicles are old and require replacement.
