Kofi Bosompem Osafo-Maafo, Director-General of SSNIT, has revealed the termination of the sale of a 60% stake in four SSNIT-owned hotels to Rock City Hotel was due to Organised Labour's objections.
Speaking on Citi Breakfast Show, he emphasized that stakeholder engagement was crucial, and after considering unions' demands, SSNIT decided to halt the sale.
Osafo-Maafo noted that the divestment process began in 2010 and continued through various boards, aiming to improve hotel revenue.
He clarified that this initiative did not start during his tenure but had been ongoing for over a decade.
