The National Chairman of the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), George Ansong, is doubtful about the upcoming meeting between the Education Ministry and university unions, citing the government's history of unfulfilled promises.

Despite several meetings, he claims there have been no concrete outcomes.

The unions, including TEWU and GAUA, are on strike over salary and working condition issues.

Mr. Ansong emphasized that they want immediate payment, not just talks.

With the ongoing strike disrupting the academic calendar, labor experts are urging swift government action to resolve the impasse.
