We won’t comply with your directive; go to court – CETAG tells FWSC

The College of Education Teachers Association of Ghana (CETAG) has defied the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission's (FWSC) directive to end their strike.

CETAG initiated an indefinite strike on June 14, 2024, over the government's delay in implementing the National Labour Commission's (NLC) Arbitral Award Orders and agreed service conditions.

Despite FWSC's call to cease the strike and accusations of bad faith, CETAG insists their actions are legal and protected by the labor act.

CETAG President Prince Obeng-Himah stated they will continue the strike until the government fulfills its obligations. The issue has been reported to the police for investigation.
