You’re celebrating bankruptcy status – Adongo berates Finance Minister

Isaac Adongo, the Ranking Member on Parliament's Finance Committee, has criticized Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam for celebrating what he called a "bankrupt status" of the country.

Adongo questioned the Minister's comparison of economic performance, arguing that declaring bankruptcy makes such comparisons irrelevant.

He emphasized the importance of maintaining sovereignty and trust for securing loans.

Adongo highlighted the NDC's ability to service debt, grow the economy, and stabilize the cedi simultaneously. He urged the government to focus on building financial buffers to service debt when necessary.
