You’re deceitful liars – Regional Police Commander fires at Pro-NDC demonstrators

Deputy Ashanti Regional Police Commander, ACP David Agyemang Adjem has described the leadership of pro-National Democratic Congress (NDC) political pressure group; Coalition for National Sovereignty as deceitful liars.

“These people are deceitful and liars”, the senior police officer fumed in an interview MyNewsGh.com monitored on a local radio station after the latter was asked by the demonstrators to join active politics and if he so wishes.

Dr. Agyenim Boateng a member of the group accused the police chief of exhibiting biases during last week’s demonstration in the Ashanti Region and advised him to join active politics as his conduct showed he was a politician and not a professional policeman.

“I want to send a signal to the Deputy Ashanti Regional Commander that he can remove his uniform and do politics than to hide behind politicians”, he said.

According to the United Front Party (UFP) founder, police wanted to secure a court injunction to ‘stop us and he couldn’t because we are determined and nobody can stop us”,

Responding to the claims, ACP David Agyemang said, the demonstrators failed to adhere to initial arrangement they made with his outfit and therefore police cannot be blamed for the mishap that nearly forestall the demonstration.

“We had arrangement with them but few days to the demonstration, known to us, they have changed their route so we have to make sure the right things are done” the Deputy Regional Commander explained.
