2022 World Cup Qualifiers: CK Akonnor to ring changes to starting lineup to face South Africa

Black Stars coach, Charles Akonnor will make changes to his starting against South Africa in the World Cup qualifications on Monday, September 6, 2021.

The Bafana Bafanas will host the Black Stars at the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg in the second round.

Ghana will miss the services of the England-based players namely Jeffrey Schlupp, Daniel Amartey, Andy Yiadom, Baba Abdul Rahman, and Jordan Ayew due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh who made his debut against Ethiopia last Friday will also not be available for Monday's game.

Akonnor will have to tweak his starting lineup for Monday's match due to the unavailability of the above-mentioned players.

Hearts of Oak captain Fatawu Mohammed, Majeed Ashimeru, Yaw Yeboah, Joel Fameyeh, Jonathan Mensah are all line for starting places.

Ghana pipped Ethiopia 1-0 in the opening fixture of the qualifiers on Friday courtesy of a Mubarak Wakaso long drive.

South Africa played out a scoreless stalemate with their Zimbabwe counterparts also on Friday and will be seeking a win against the Black Stars.
