The government has yet to fully pay 28 hotels for services provided during the 2023 African Games, according to Sports Minister Mustapha Ussif.
Although over 100 days have passed since the event ended, the Ministry still owes these hotels, despite earlier reports of threats of legal action from over 40 hotels.
Ussif clarified that only 28 hotels are owed, with the rest having been paid in full. The Ministry has paid more than 40% to the remaining hotels and will settle the balance upon receiving funding.
The games, held from March 8 to 23, 2024, saw Ghana hosting over 13,000 athletes and officials, winning 69 medals.
