Ibrahim Sannie Daara, former Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), has downplayed concerns over Kwasi Appiah's dual roles as Sudan's national team coach and GFA Executive Council member.
Appiah's dual roles, especially with Sudan facing Ghana in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, have raised conflict-of-interest issues.
Football analyst Osei Owusu Bempah called for Appiah's resignation, but Sannie suggested Appiah could recuse himself from GFA discussions during the qualifiers. Sannie emphasized the potential benefits of Appiah's experience.
The GFA plans to consult FIFA on the matter. Ghana's qualifiers start in September 2024 against Angola, Niger, and Sudan.
