"We aimed to win the WAFU cup, but even though we fell short, reaching the final is still commendable. Let’s continue to support Ghana in building a team capable of winning the AFCON," he stated.
Having been part of the historic Ghana U20 team that won the FIFA U20 World Cup in 2009, Badu expressed his desire for the current generation to achieve similar success.
"I hoped they would match our records from when we won the WAFU, AFCON, and World Cup," he noted. "Though they faced a loss, it’s not the end. We will prepare thoroughly for the AFCON to aim for World Cup qualification."
While the defeat in the WAFU B Championship final is disappointing, it also provides a crucial learning opportunity for the Black Satellites as they prepare for the U20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Agyemang-Badu remains optimistic that with proper preparation and ongoing fan support, the team can perform well at the 2025 U20 AFCON and secure a spot in the U20 World Cup.
