Bronx, NY -- Alex Kwapong, a big soccer fan and enterpreneur from Bronx, New York had a dream of owning his own Football team in America. After a few years, the dream has become a reality after spotting young men who have talents and can "play ball" . Kwapong is gradually grooming unknown players with talents from the big apple to play professionally and thereby becoming future soccer superstars. One of his players plays for the Sierra Leone national team.
His team, Chelsea FC, Bronx, NY recently was the winner of a soccer tournament at the Mother of All Picnics. It was also inspirational when his team was invited to play with the renowned New York Red Bulls Academy giving them a big exposure. He says it took him three months to get that opportunity.
The game occurred at the venue : TIBBETTS BROOK PARK YONKERS, NY. The New York Red Bulls Academy beat Chelsea FC Bronx, NY, 4-1. Chelsea FC learnt a lot from the game and Alex was proud to play with the New York Red Bulls Academy even though they lost.
The team coach: Joe Wasa, Ex player in the Ghanaian Premier League told this writer, that he has confidence in his players and if they get the right facilities/incentives/support needed, they will be unstoppable.
