Former President John Rawlings has advised new World Boxing Organisation (WBO) Bantamweight champion, Isaac Dogboe against allowing his victory in clinching titles to corrupt him.
According to Mr Rawlings, winning titles is like winning political power and it has the potential to corrupt.
The former President, who has been supportive of Isaac Dogboe received the title from Dogboe’s team who called on him at his Ridge residence.
Mr Rawlings said there was the need for Dogboe to “equip himself with a new level of discipline and a higher level of spiritual focus if he is to successfully defend the title for as long as legend Azumah Nelson did.”
“Winning the title is like winning political power. It also has a way of corrupting you. The danger is you can adopt an easy attitude after the victory and lose it all,” he pointed out.
Isaac Dogboe is expected to take the title round to thank people who played diverse roles in his victory.
