Dwarfs draws with Vipers in a special AIDS match

Cape Coast, Dec.31, GNA - Cape Coast Ebusua Dwarfs on Sunday settled for 1-1 drawn game with city rivals Venomous Vipers in a special soccer match played at the Robert Mensah stadium.

The match was organized by the Central Regional Co-ordinating Council in collaboration with the Aids Commission to raise funds to support HIV/AIDS programmes in the Region.

After referee Jeffrey Amamoo signaled the two sides into action, it was Vipers who took control of affairs but failed to utilize the chances that came their way.

Dwarfs gradually warmed themselves into the game and following a two-man move at the right flank, midfielder, Philip Eshun, scored the opener in the 36th minute with a non drop shot.

Vipers resumed the second half strongly and made several attempts to find the equalizer but had to wait until the 89th minute when inside right, Peter Edu equalized with a sizzling shot.

Nana Ato Arthur, Central Regional Minister took the kick off. 31 Dec. 07
