Edu leaves role as Arsenal sporting director

The Brazilian returned to Arsenal as technical director in the summer of 2019 and was elevated to sporting director in November 2022.

Edu, 46, was a player for Arsenal from 2001 to 2005, securing two league titles, including one with the legendary 'Invincibles' squad of 2003-04.

On Monday, Edu expressed, "This was an incredibly difficult choice to make. It is now time for me to seek a new challenge.

Arsenal will always hold a special place in my heart. I wish the club and its fans nothing but the best."
