GFA to hold stakeholder engagement after Black Stars AFCON qualifier collpase

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will hold a stakeholder engagement following the Black Stars' failure to qualify for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

This marks the first time in 20 years Ghana will miss the tournament, last won in 1982. The team finished last in Group F with three points, recording three draws and three defeats.

Amid public calls to overhaul the technical team and leadership, the GFA plans a retreat to review the team’s poor performance. Additionally, the GFA Executive Council will convene to address the situation.

The Black Stars now shift focus to the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with upcoming matches against Chad and Madagascar in March 2025, as they aim to rebuild after their disappointing AFCON campaign.
