Ghana wins bid to host 2026 African Athletics Championships

Ghana has won the bid to host the 2026 Confederation of African Athletics (CAA) Seniors Championships, securing 12 out of 15 votes against Botswana.

The announcement was made by Ghana Athletics, highlighting the country's successful bid led by officials like Bawa Majeed and Bawah Fuseini.

Leveraging its recent hosting experiences at the African Games 2023 and CAA Region II Seniors Championships, Ghana aims to deliver another top-tier event.

Meanwhile, in the ongoing championships, Ghanaian athletes Isaac Botsio, Edwin Gadayi, and Deborah Acheampong have progressed to the semi-finals of the 100m events, showcasing their competitive prowess.
