Former Ghanaian international Hans Sarpei Nunoo insists that the issue of racism is not being tackled well enough by the DFB.

Football in the past year has witnessed a lot of racism incidences with Germany being one of the countries to have recorded cases.

According to Hans Sarpei, he does not see much being done by the DFB to properly deal with the problem.

"Hang up the signs and the players then come in and say we are against racism', that's not enough”, the former Schalke 04 defender told Phoenix TV in an interview.

To deal with racism, Han Sarpei suggests "Why not use the power of football and play a game in Ghana, for example, where Jerome Boateng has its roots, and show people: 'That's how it is in Ghana'."

He added, "In social networks, people can hide behind a false identity. There should actually be a lot more people there who report authors of hate comments. Only when they are displayed do they shrink and become calmer, nothing happens beforehand”.

Having spent his entire club career playing in Germany, Hans Sarpei featured for clubs including Fortuna Koln, MSV Duisburg, VfL Wolfsburg, Bayer Leverkusen, as well as Schalke 04.
