Ruben Amorim expressed his desire to take the Manchester United position at the end of the season but opted for a mid-season role after being informed it was a "now or never" situation.

The 39-year-old was officially named Manchester United's new head coach on Friday and is set to transition from Sporting Lisbon to Old Trafford on November 11.

After Sporting's recent 5-1 league win over Estrela, which kept their perfect record intact after 10 matches, Amorim shared that his only condition for considering United's offer was to finish the current season, which he had already communicated to the club's president would be his final one.
