Ghana international defender Samuel Inkoom is determined to lead Boavista in their quest to upset Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese top-tier league clash on Saturday.
The 26-year-old versatile right-back is set to return to Boavista’s starting role for their all-important clash with boogey-side Sporting Lisbon.
Boavista have not won against Sporting in all competitions since January 2008.
Manager Armando Gonçalves Teixeira has restored the former FC Basel defender back into his squad following his availability from suspension and he is determined to marshal the backline as they seek to record just their third win against Sporting in 15 games.
“It will be great game this weekend but if we take our chances we are going win,” he told Ghanasoccernet.com.
Boavista’s 2-0 away triumph over Academica Coimbra was a good recovery from their home defeat against Pacos Fereirra and Inkoom believes they are beginning to get things right.
“We are working hard in training the strong points and also we are together as a team,” he added.
The 2009 FIFA U20 gold medalist has started 4 of Boavista’s opening 5 games of the season and missed the fifth game only due to suspension.
