Inkoom joins MLS side DC United

Ghana right-back Samuel Inkoom has joined American side DC United on a free transfer, the MLS side has announced.

The 25-year-old, who was part of the Ghanaian team at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, has been assigned the No.21 jersey.

Inkoom last played for Greek side Platanias whom he joined from Ukrainian outfit Dnipro on a short loan deal last January in a bid to win a place in Ghana’s squad for the World Cup.

He has also previously been on the books of French side Bastia as well as Basel of Switzerland.

Known for his versatility on the pitch, Inkoom can equally play at left-back or fill in on either wing.

The former Asante Kotoko defender could well make his official debut this weekend when DC United travels away to play Vancouver Whitecaps on Saturday in the American Major League Soccer.
