President of the Ghana Amateur Boxing Federation, Mr. George Lamptey has added his voice to claims that Isaac Dogboe should get a new trainer to help him in his boxing career.
In defending his title for the second time, Isaac Dogboe was not at his best as he is normally known as he lost on unanimous decision after 12 rounds to Emanuel Navarrete at the Madison Square Garden in New York last Sunday.
Analyzing Dogboe’s defeat to Navarrete on Happy FM’s Wamputu Sports, Amateur boxing chief, Mr. George Lamptey opined that, Dogboe as a boxer is now bigger than his father, Paul Dogbe who also serves as his trainer.
In his view, the budding boxer’s technical team lead by his father, Paul Dogboe did not help the boxer to win the bout because Emanuel Naverrete is not the kind of boxer Isaac Dogboe should have lost to.
“In my view, Isaac Dogboe is now bigger than his father so he should get a trainer attached to his father. Dogboe’s corner lost the bout and not Dogboe, so they should do something about their technical team and probably add more experienced people,” he said on Happy FM.
Isaac Dogboe suffered his first defeat against Emanuel Navarrete after going 20 fights undefeated.
