Ghana Premier League top scorer Diawusie Taylor is livid that he was not invited to the Ghana Premier League end of season awards and wants to believe that the brief ceremony was held by sponsors NASCO and not the Ghana Football Asociation.

An event was held on Tuesday, 30th August 2021 where they awarded standout performers in the just ended football season without the top scorer present.

Hearts coach Samuel Boadu was named as the coach of the season while their midfielder Ibrahim Salifu was adjudged the best player of the season but there was no word about the top goal scorer.

Speaking with Angel FM in Accra, the striker was disappointed over the snub from the awards ceremony that was held as he believes he deserves something to commemorate his feat.

“I saw it yesterday, I think this is not coming from the Ghana Football Association (GFA), I think Nasco organized it, I don’t want to believe it is a general awards ceremony that we all know,” Diawusie told Angel FM Accra.

"They awarded Player of the season and coach of the season, as a top scorer I didn’t hear anything from them. Awards like this people will expect who is the top scorer with the golden boot."

"It will be very worrying if I don’t get any plaque to show that I’m the top scorer. I’m hoping that this is not the final awards ceremony,” he concluded.

Taylor finished the season as the top scorer in the Ghana Premier League with 18 goals.

He made a total of of 32 appearances in the 2020/2021 for Karela United and scored 18 goals to emerge as the highest goal scorer.
