Leif Davis had initially put Ipswich ahead with a superb volley, seemingly securing the win, but Ayew's timely strike altered the result. This marked Ayew's second late goal of the season, following his last-minute winner against Southampton in a 3-2 match last month.

"Crazy, crazy, crazy moment," Ayew remarked. "It's important to leave with something. It was a tough match. I think it was evenly contested. Ipswich played well, and we did too, but sometimes you need a bit of luck, and we got that at the end."
