Ghana striker Jordan Ayew has urged his Aston Villa teammates to sustain their performance and push up the Premier League after their impressive second-half showing against Newcastle United on Saturday.
Ayew, 24, scored a superb second-half goal to earn Premier League bottom club Aston Villa a point at Newcastle.
The former Olympique Marseille man drove into the top corner from just inside the area to cancel out Fabricio Coloccini's close-range opener.
And, after securing the Villians from the jaws of defeat, Ayew has urged his teammates to continue with their second-half performance.
“If we play like we did in the second half I think we will win games," he said in a post-match interview.
Ayew has now scored four league goals in his last eight games of the season.
