Man Utd's Malard scores late to draw with Arsenal

Melvine Malard, a substitute for Manchester United, netted a late equalizer to earn a draw against Arsenal at Leigh Sports Village.

This goal negated Alessia Russo's opening strike of the Women's Super League season, which had seemed likely to secure a win for the Gunners.

Despite facing challenges in scoring this season, Russo appeared revitalized against her old team, ultimately scoring during a strong second-half performance.

With England manager Sarina Wiegman in attendance, Russo fired the ball into the net just moments after her teammate Lia Walti hit the post.
