Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed that even healthy players are experiencing discomfort as they navigate a demanding fixture schedule, leading to what he describes as an injury "emergency" within the squad.
Guardiola is uncertain about the availability of several players for the upcoming match against Bournemouth following injuries sustained during Wednesday's 2-1 EFL Cup loss to Tottenham.
Savinho was taken off on a stretcher due to an ankle injury, and Manuel Akanji suffered a calf injury during the warm-up.
Post-match, Guardiola revealed that he currently has only 13 fit players, with long-term injuries affecting Rodri and Oscar Bobb, alongside concerns regarding Kevin de Bruyne, Kyle Walker, Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish, Akanji, and Josko Gvardiol.
