Police secure conviction of 5 armed robbers in Ashanti region

Five armed robbers in the Ashanti Region have been convicted for their involvement in robbery and related crimes, according to the Ghana Police Service.

The convicts, named Jeffrey Dwomoh, Clifford Opoku, Kwabena Kyei Barfour, Prince Opuni, and Henry Kusi Marfo, were sentenced for crimes including robbery, conspiracy, and supplying ammunition.

Dwomoh and Opoku received 120-year sentences, while Barfour was sentenced to 105 years.

Opuni was fined GH¢5,000 or faces 10 months in prison, and Marfo paid a fine to avoid a 15-month sentence.

Two other suspects were acquitted.
