With Jeffrey Schlupp’s return to the Black Stars, there is hope of Ghana managing to convince more players born abroad to play for the country’s national team.

Recently, attempts by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to get players born abroad but of Ghanaian descent to play for the Black Stars have failed to materialize.

Notable, Europe hot-shots Jeremy Doku and Myron Boadu are two talented players that could have strengthened the squad of the Ghana national team.

Unfortunately, they all declined advances from Ghana officials and decided to play for Belgium and Netherlands respectively.

However, with the likes of Jeffrey Schlupp still in the Black Stars team, it supposes that all is not lost.

His inclusion as a player born abroad but of Ghanaian descent means that players still have interest to play for the Black Stars.
