Swedish side, Elfsborg have finally unveiled their new signing Emmanuel Boateng six weeks after penning a deal for the top-flight club.

The 24-year-old put pen to paper on a four-year contract last month [August] from the Israeli side Hapoel Tel Aviv.

But the former WAFA SC man was unable to join his new teammates after delays in his acquisition of an entry visa and a residence permit.

He arrived in Borås on Friday, 10 September 2021, night and was presented to the club's fans and media the following day.

"It feels very good. I have already met very nice people who welcomed me into the team so right now it feels good to finally be here,'' Boateng told the club's website.

"I know that IF Elfsborg is one of the biggest clubs here in Sweden with a great history, so for me this felt like an obvious choice."

Boateng, who also played for Ghana Premier League Aduana Stars, added: "It has been a tough period. I was very happy when I knew over a month ago that I would come here, but due to the whole situation with my VISA, my arrival here was delayed.

"But now I am here and that is the most important thing for me."

Boateng made 28 appearances in all competitions for Tel Aviv and scored one goal in the process.
