On Thursday 23 August, the Cheonan Sports Complex plays host to Matchday 2 in Group F at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Korea 2007. The first fixture of the day is the eagerly-awaited clash between Ghana and Germany.
The starlets made a smooth start to the tournament with a 4-1 victory over Trinidad and Tobago, but the Germans were forced to settle for a draw against Colombia after letting slip a two-goal lead, and are now hoping to make amends with a first victory at the event. The game : Ghana v Germany, Cheonan, Thursday, 23. August, 17:00 (local time)
Following their convincing victory over T&T, Ghana will be in confident mood ahead of the game. Another three points for the Black Starlets, previous winners of the tournament in 1991 and 1995, would see them safely through to the next round with a match to spare. After their opening day draw, the German U-17s ideally require a win to keep them on course for a place in the last 16, and spare them a nail-biting final group encounter.
Both teams will be at full strength, as neither is troubled by injury or suspension.
