Minister of Youth and Sports, Mustapha Ussif, has denied responsibility for the Norway Scandal involving absconded para-athletes supposed to represent Ghana at the Bergren Marathon.
One athlete died, and another was apprehended by Norwegian authorities while attempting to move to Sweden. The scandal, detailed in a National Security letter, revealed that the National Paralympic Committee-Ghana President's signature was forged on visa application documents.
Ussif asserted that proper protocols were bypassed, and the Norwegian authorities failed to verify the athletes' legitimacy with the Ministry. He emphasized that due processes were not followed, absolving himself of any responsibility for the incident.
